Your arctic experience
KIDE Hotel by Iso-Syöte will open in November 2019
Our hotel is in the heart of Iso-Syöte, leaning to the Syöte National Park. With us you will enjoy the best experiences the area has to offer. Our brand-new apartment hotel features functional and beautiful scandinavian style rooms, each having a kitchen and a balcony facing the Iso-Syöte fell or lake Luppovesi.
Activities such as skiing, snowboarding and snow shoeing on the crisp mid-winter days blush your cheeks and give you a hit of arctic excitement. Enjoy the surrounding snowy winter wonderland views with its fells, forests and frozen lakes. The nature will take you to another world. The pale midday sun at day, and a sky full of stars at night, or if you get lucky, the auroras.
Come spring the days get longer and the snow on the ski slopes softer. March and April are locals’ favorite months to visit us! Enjoy the long, slowly warming days in the slopes or just admire the nature slowly awakening for its long snowy sleep.
Imagine the red midnight sun shining over the lakes and fells of Iso-Syöte. Summer is the time to enjoy the endless days, the radiant green wilderness and the berries, mushrooms, fish and other natures delicacies. Wonder around in the exquisite wilderness by foot, bike or canoe.
KIDE <3 nature
We love the nature, the national park and the fells, forest, streams and lakes in it. Hence we do our most to keep it clean and green( and white ❄️) for years to come.
- Our rooms stay warm with geothermal heating.
- Our hotel restaurant Tuba uses a lot of ingredients that are organic, locally produced or ingredients that would’ve gone to waste. There is always food on our menu that is vegetarian friendly or vegan.
- Tuba is also eco-friendly and recycling oriented and you can sense the same atmosphere in your room. Peek into your cupboard or feel the timber on your bed head.
- All our kitchen taps, dishwasher and bathroom utensils are new and meet water- and energy saving standards.
- All our toiletries are refillable.
Iso-Syöte is Finland’s Southernmost fell, located just below the arctic circle. In the winter, we often get the greatest amount of snow in the country, when the winds from the Gulf of Bothnia drop the snow to the first hills. In mid-winter the trees will get a gorgeous snow cover and only imagination limits, what can be seen in the forest. And remember to listen carefully: there is no more intense silence, than the thick coverage of snow drawing all the voices from the woods.
During the summer our clean forests and waters are filled with berries, mushrooms and fish. Over a hundred kilometers long biking, walking and hiking trails cut the wilderness.
Iso-Syöte is easy to fall in love with. In any season, the nature with is multiple activities are right in the reach of your hand and soul.
You can get to us by car (140 km from Oulu, 750 km from Helsinki), by train (to Oulu) or by flying to Oulu, Rovaniemi or Kuusamo airports and catching a bus or a car from there.
